I am the sixth son of eight children, I moved to Darwin with my family in 1976. Both of my Parents worked in the education department. I grew up in Anula and attended Parap Primary and Darwin High Schools. It is at Parap Primary were I was given the nick name “Smiley” by my friends. When I finished school I gained employment as an apprentice diesel Mechanic. In 1987 I met my wife Leta, who is also a trades person and long-time Darwin local since 1975 at the Lord Mayors highland ball. We married in 2000 and started a family in 2003 we have two lovely boys who both attend a public school in Darwin. My wife is currently in her final year of a teaching degree.Together we have run a small business since 1992. We have lived in Berrimah, Winnellie, Humpty Doo and Palmerston, so the Spillett area is well known to us both.
I enjoy the Darwin life style and have a great network of friends and colleagues all over the Territory. My wife and I are both heavily involved in our community we both volunteer our time each year and play the bagpipes and side drum for the Coomalie council. We have performed together at the ANZAC day dawn service in Adelaide River for the last seven years. We also play at a couple of the local Darwin schools for their small ANZAC day ceremonies. I also volunteer occasionally with a local charity organisation. I have also volunteered my time as the president of the Parap Pre School council in 2006.
I am very community orientated and am known for helping people. I love Darwin and it’s people. Let me work for you!
